American History – project: Benjamin Burg
2 weekly hours to I gymnasium.
Aim to introduce an introductory level American History to Gym students in the English Language. Two 45 min. lessons per week. Each semester is divided into 6 sections Each section will be 2 to 3 weeks. Topics have been chosen to offer knowledge that is not part of regular Polish taught world history classes and follows the Smithsonian “ Children’s Encyclopedia of American History.”
Class activities will be based on readings, class projects and maintaining student notebook. Each student will be required to bring to every class their History notebook and text book.

3. Creating a New Nation including
Benjamin Franklin & Early Philadelphia
4. America Grows including
Trail of Tears and Louisiana Purchase
5. The Union Shattered including
Underground Railroad and Mark Twain
6. Settling the West including
Railroad and American Indians
